Office of Human Resources Workshop Schedule

There are some exciting workshops to attend during the month of November.

November 6       Managing Your Strengths   1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Take an in-depth look at your personal strengths, interests and skills. Identifying and using your strengths is the key to improving individual effectiveness and team performance. You must register by October 31 to give yourself time to complete the StrengthsQuest Assessment.

November 8       Student Employment  1:00 pm – 4:00 pm This workshop will provide you with an overview of the student employment process including recruitment, the hiring process, Federal Work Study program, and timesheets. More specifically, it will focus on the actual “how to” process of interviewing and hiring a student employee, clearing the student employee through the Payroll Office, submitting timesheets, and how the student receives paychecks.

November 13    Speak Up   9:30 am – 11:00 am  The Office of Inclusion and Institutional Equity is offering this dynamic Speak Up! Workshop that will provide you with the tools necessary to challenge everyday bigotry. Speak Up! Workshops foster discussion of encounters that individuals have had with everyday bigotry, from stores to restaurants, the classroom, or workplace.

November 26    Beyond On-Boarding: Developing Student Employees 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm  This is a new workshop many of you with student employees have been asking for. In this companion workshop to Student Employment, you will learn how to manage your student employee so the employment experience is a positive one for both the student and your department. Learn how to set expectations, manage performance, provide professional development and recognize and motivate your student employees.

Don’t forget the last 2 PNC Workshops for the calendar year, keep your identity safe as we enter the busy shopping season and start out 2019 with a plan for saving more.

November 13    Identity Theft/Keep It Safe  Are you taking unnecessary risks with your identity? Do you understand how to protect your rights as a consumer? Are you financially prepared for the unexpected? This seminar will help you find the answers to these questions.

December 6       Pay Yourself First    Learn ways to save money and what savings options are available to help achieve your goals, such as college tuitions, vacation, car, or a home.
