Professor Knutson will present research on the merits of Creative Movement as Pedagogy for Adult Learners. Typically exclusive to the domain of early learning, creative movement in dance is pedagogy used until the mind/body matures enough to respond to real or instrumental dance technique. Professor Knutson refutes this pervasive ideology by identifying scientific, philosophical, pedagogical and educational anchoring for its effective use for all populations.
