It’s never too early to register for the OAI Online Edge Facilitation Workshop. This workshop begins on June 4th and runs through June 25, 2018
This workshop is fully online. After an online course design is complete, and the semester starts, online instructors take on the varied roles of online facilitators.
In this workshop, participants will assess and hone their skills regarding online course facilitation. For our purposes, facilitation includes all interactions, communication, and feedback that occur with students.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Create and maintain a learning environment that is safe, respectful, and inviting.
- Communicate with students responsively, proactively, frequently, and in a timely manner.
- Provide constructive feedback.
- Make course modifications based on ongoing student feedback.
- Facilitate discourse to enable learners’ achievement of learning objectives.
- Implement learner-centered practices.
This online workshop is both asynchronous and facilitated; you will have flexibility to complete workshop activities at any time or location you like, as long as you meet all deadlines. Please be prepared to set aside at least 10-12 hours per week to complete the workshop activities.
