The Volunteer Tradition
Towson University Commencement
Please accept this invitation and consider joining TU’s rich history of service to the graduating class, their families, and guests by volunteering to serve at Commencement. Many volunteers are needed to ensure that the ceremonies run smoothly and provide the best possible Towson University experience for all participants. Please see the schedule of spring ceremonies listed below:
Wednesday, December 20
10 AM: College of Education & College of Fine Arts and Communication
3 PM: College of Business and Economics & College of Health Professions
Thursday, December 21
10 AM: Fisher College of Science & Mathematics & College of Liberal Arts
There are several opportunities to volunteer, such as greeting guests and distributing programs, assisting guests with special needs, and helping with student line-up. All volunteer roles are focused on ensuring the safety and comfort of our guests – many of whom may be visiting our campus for the first time.
Register before November 27 to help make Commencement a day to remember for TU graduates and their families! Assignments will be confirmed via email on December 4. An optional volunteer orientation will be held on December 13 from 12-1 p.m. in the Minnegan Room. Lunch will be provided. Please obtain your supervisor’s approval before submitting your request. Leave time is not required and should not be used when volunteering.
