Benefits Change
Effective January 1, CVS/caremark replaces Express Scripts as the new pharmacy benefits provider. The plan features and copayments will not change. Faculty and staff currently enrolled in Express Scripts will automatically transfer to CVS/caremark unless they opt out through an enrollment election. Current mail order pharmacy, specialty drug, and prior-authorization records will also automatically transfer from Express Scripts to CVS/caremark.
Enrolled Faculty and staff will receive a CVS/caremark welcome kit before January 1. Check the CVS/caremark network for a list of participating pharmacies in your area to ensure a smooth transition. Also, remember to present your new pharmacy ID card when you use retail pharmacy services for the first time in 2018.
Visit CVS/caremark to access information about the plan, see the formulary drug list, locate a pharmacy, and more. You can also call the dedicated state of Maryland customer care team at 1-844-460-8767. Representatives are available 24/7.
2018 Rates
The 2018 rates will remain similar to 2017, with slight increases for Delta Dental and Kaiser Permanente, and a decrease in pharmacy rates.
