Salvatore Pappalardo (Department of English) has been named the winner of the Max Kade Prize, given annually for the best scholarly article in German literature and culture studies. Dr. Pappalardo won the prize for his article “The Betrayal of the Urbs Fidelissima: Habsburg Trieste in Robert Musil’s Der Mann ohne Eigenschaften” published in vol. 89.2 (Spring 2016) of the German Quarterly, one of the most prestigious publications in the field of German Studies.
