TU employees enrolled in UnitedHealthcare (UHC) have been receiving calls from 888-562-3231 (among other phone numbers) in which they’re asked to provide their social security number and date of birth. This is a scam and has been reported to the UHC Privacy Office.
If you’re called and asked to provide HIPPA information, hang up. If the callers leave a message, don’t return the call.
The UHC Privacy Office is investigating this, and updates will be provided when more is learned.
