Session Descriptions

Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE)

Presented by Cpl. Joe Gregory, TU Office of Emergency Preparedness

The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course is designed and built on an “avoid, deny and defend” strategy developed by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT). The course provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event.

Medical Action Knowledge Emergency Intervention Training (MAKE IT)

Presented by Dr. Matthias Goldstein – Director, Towson University’s Student Health Services

The MAKE IT training is a follow up course offered immediately after CRASE training.  The course trains civilians how to treat themselves and others while waiting for help following an active shooter event.
