The Office of Academic Innovation (OAI) aims to develop the talents of faculty as leaders in teaching, scholarship, and service. Please join us for the Introduction to Blended Course Design workshop this October, free for any Towson Faculty member.

Description: Over the course of an 11-day, mostly online workshop, you will select a unit from a course you already teach, then analyze, and reorganize the content to create a blended setting. About halfway through, we will meet in person for a two-hour collaborative session, modeling transitions between the online and in-person environments. This experience is ideal for faculty interested in developing a blended course, or in early stages of development.
Format: Blended. The in-person meeting is mandatory, however, alternative means of attendance are available. Online activities are asynchronous and facilitated, meaning that you must meet all deadlines, but have flexibility to complete the activities at a time and place of your choosing.
Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, you should be able to:
- Define Blended Learning
- Classify the elements of a blended course
- Identify activities from a face-to-face course that can move online to create a blended setting
- Design transitional activities to link content between the online and face-to-face settings
