The version of Windows 7 currently used at TU will not work on new Dell Computers, so the Office of Technology Services (OTS) strongly recommends waiting until April before purchasing a new Dell computer.
The new Dell models now ship with the new Generation 6 Skylake processors and won’t run Windows 7, which is our current campus standard. These new models will provide better performance but require Windows 10, which is currently in testing. OTS will make Windows 10 available to faculty and staff sometime in April 2016, and will communicate details to the campus as information solidifies.
