Landline Phone Service Interruption

On Thursday, April 30, the University is changing telephone service providers. At some point between 8 a.m. and noon, landline phone service will be migrated in groups to the new service provider. Each group migration will take approximately 30-40 minutes to complete. This change of providers does not require anyone to visit your office as it is performed remotely.

As your telephone service is migrated, you will be:

  • Unable to receive calls from off campus. Callers will receive a fast busy signal while the extension is being migrated.
  • Able to receive calls from other campus extensions.
  • Able to place calls to any number on or off campus.

The main switchboard and emergency numbers will be migrated in the first group and we anticipate them being offline from 8 – 8:40 a.m. During that time, if you have an emergency, you can contact the University Police at (410) 830-2134. Please limit calls to this number to emergencies.

Your phone number will not change and there will be no differences in the way you use your phone as a result of this work. If you have any questions, please call Eric Cannizzo in the Office of Technology Services at (410) 704-4085.
