TUSC represents the interests of all staff, all categories, all departments, exempt and non-exempt, full-time and part-time. If you have a concern about parking, pay, benefits or anything else, TUSC works as your liaison between staff and University leadership.

 Mary Cowles Tammy Cross
I relocated from upstate New York to Baltimore to start my career as an academic program specialist here at Towson in February 2014.  I work on a daily basis with a variety of faculty, staff and students from across the Towson University community including USG, CSM and TUNE.  It is my pleasure to be a resource for people not only in the Towson community but in our local education community as well. I have been at Towson since January 2010 when I began in the Office of the Provost as the executive administrative assistant to the Vice Provost. In 2013 I transitioned to the new Office of Academic Innovation.  I coordinate all of the events for the OAI and that has afforded me the opportunity to interact with all of the campus, including faculty, staff and students.   I thoroughly enjoy working with the entire Towson community and very much welcome the opportunity to be a member of TUSC.
La Tonya Dyer Jayne French
I am the course development support manager for the Office of Academic Innovation. In this role, I am responsible for the management of the OAI team of instructional designers/technologists, multimedia specialists and student employees. I have been a part of the USM since 2001 and joined Towson University in 2007. I am currently enrolled in Towson University’s Instructional Technology Doctorate program. I work in the Center for Student Diversity.  I am a strong advocate for fairness and work on many issues related to social justice, mental illness and domestic violence.  I also enjoy volunteer work, especially with Special Olympics Maryland, NAACP and crocheting for various non-profit agencies.  If elected to serve on TUSC, I will represent ALL staff members as I would want myself represented.
Trevor Lowing Danny Mays
In my previous life (before TU) I was an aircraft mechanic in the US Navy for 5 years, worked as an auto mechanic when I left the Navy and upon graduation from TU in 2011 went to work for Penske as a diesel truck mechanic (diesels & tractor-trailers). I’m currently working on some history research/exhibits on the side/after work hours.  It was a long road from graduating to coming back as a staff member but I wouldn’t change a thing and I couldn’t be prouder to be a Tiger. I am a senior purchasing agent in the Procurement Department and have been with Towson University for two years. In this role, I am responsible for soliciting a variety of commodities and services for numerous campus customers, utilizing public bidding procedures, while obtaining best value for University funds. In addition to my 7 years in public procurement, I am also “The Voice of Ripken Stadium,” serving as the public address announcer for the Aberdeen IronBirds, and I am a bassist/vocalist for the 90s tribute act “Here’s to the Night.” I hope to bring my experience from a wide variety of endeavors to TUSC in order to serve the needs of the campus community.
Chad Nazworth Greg Rosenthal
I am the Student Launch Pad coordinator for the Towson University Incubator within the Division of Innovation and Applied Research. In this role, I oversee the marketing and event logistics of Student Launch Pad workshops and events. I am part of a team of Division staff dedicated to building an entrepreneurial experience for all students, regardless of major. A native of Maryland, I recently graduated from Towson University’s Honors College with a BA in economics and international studies. While a student at Towson, I was the director of the Campus Activities Board, coordinating large campus events like Tigerfest and Homecoming. I am passionate about TU and the strong community created by students, staff and faculty. I am the administrative assistant/office manager at the Towson University English Language Center. I have a MA in intercultural communication from UMBC and am working toward an MA in counseling at TU. I have over ten years of community organizing experience from working with low-wage workers to lobbying in Annapolis and Washington, DC.
Dale Schmertzler Sheila Tilghman
My career as an administrative assistant at Towson University began in 2004 with a position in the College of Education. The primary focus of my responsibilities is with the graduate programs and includes a variety of activities involving prospective and current students, faculty and administrators. It has been my pleasure to offer support to the college and I have very much enjoyed working with everyone in the Towson University community. I hope to be able to promote the value of staff employees through my association with the Towson University Staff Council.  I am the assistant operations manager for Parking and Transportation Services. I joined the Parking and Transportation team in August 2008, earned a bachelor’s degree from TU in Business Administration and in 2012, earned a master’s degree from TU in Human Resources Development. During my tenure, I have been instrumental in the development and implementation of the University’s Alternative Transportation Program. I currently communicate with many TU staff members and students to plan and coordinate adequate parking for all major campus events. Prior to working at Towson University, I was employed with United Way of Central Maryland and was responsible for the management of day-to-day operations and administration for the organization’s Donor Choice program, a key role which touched all aspects of the private and public sector campaigns.  I have  a passion for equity and would be honored to serve on TUSC as a voice for my peers and colleagues.
Cindy Weisman
I have been employed by Towson University since November 2013. I work in Auxiliary Services’ Finance Department as a finance associate.  My job includes Accounts Payable, Auditing and Reconciling the One Card and dining locations here on campus, and reviewing the daily transactions in the Auxiliary Services Business Office.  On a regular basis I work with Accounts Payable, Parking Services, Dining Services Maintenance, Events and Conference Services, and Chartwells.  Previously I was employed by Weisman Inc. as a full charge bookkeeper for 22 years.
