New CAC Adult Class – Faux Painting

The Community Art Center of Towson University is now offering a new adult art class,

FAUX PAINTING w/ Mary Alves
ages 17-adult
4 Saturdays, 10:00am-12:30pm
October 24 – November 14

Turn your home into a work of art! This class explores the methods and techniques of faux painting. During the first class session, students will learn various glaze techniques, including parchment, color washing and antiquing. Sessions two and three will focus on marbling, woodgraining and stencil patterns. The fourth session will explore textures (venetian plaster, texture paint). Participants will also learn how to prepare walls and furniture for faux finishes.

Instructor Mary Alves is an expert decorative painter. She owns her own decorative painting business, The Merry Painter, and is an artist for The Valley Craftsmen, Ltd.

$125 tuition + $20 materials fee
TU faculty & staff receive a 10% tuition discount.
