Geo-aesthetics Conference

The Geo-aesthetics Conference sponsored by the International Association for the Study of Environment, Space and Place will be held at Towson University, Center for the Arts in room 4005 starting March 6 ? 7, 2009.

An eye does not see itself when it sees, and this is the way of all the other senses. It is what is essential about sensing. In this regard, every sense testifies to the work of the other senses. This testimony is the domain of aesthetics. As such, it is an earthly testimony, a way of the earth to speak about itself. This speech is what Geo-aesthetics concerns itself with this speech. The conference brings together those who are interested in articulating and reflecting on aesthetics from this perspective. Presenters are from a variety of disciplines. The audience is invited to celebrate earth offerings. Registration fee is $50 payable at the conference.
