The Great Socialist Transformation: Capitalism without Democracy in China

The College of Liberal Arts is proud to sponsor the Mitten Professorship Lecture Series for Spring 2011. This year the College is excited to present Dr. Kellee S. Tsai, who is a Professor of Political Science; Vice Dean for Humanities, Social Sciences and Graduate Programs; and Co-Director of the Yeung Center for China Collaborative Studies at Johns Hopkins University. Dr Tsai will speak on ?The Great Socialist Transformation: Capitalism without Democracy in China? from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in room 3110 of the new Liberal Arts Building.

Prior to joining the Dean?s office, Dr. Tsai was the Director of the East Asian Studies Program at Johns Hopkins. Her most recent book is Capitalism without Democracy: The Private Sector in Contemporary China (Cornell University Press, 2007.
